Last Update: 4.3.08
Preface: These raid lists are setup differently from the standard class lists. Here you will find raid loot for
Zul'Aman as of patch 2.3.
- All sections are setup as a matrix of the item in question matched with primary, secondary, and tertiary
class assignments. Unlike the raid lists of Azeroth, there is a great deal more open-ness about sub-classes. It is assumed
that since there are a very limited number of slots, guilds will fill required roles of tanking, healing, dpsing, decursing, etc.
with whatever class and build they find most effective. This means that if some guilds prefer for example Paladins Healing and
Priests DPSing, the new ratings matrix will not pigeonhole Priests in to only Secondary or Tertiary +Spellpower assigments.
- Although there should be significantly less loot drama then before, there are still some sticky situations. Feral
Druids on this list have been weighted heavily towards tanking while they do have a feral DPS option. Hunter's still have top priority
almost universally on non-thrown ranged, while they still have difficulty finding priority on many melee weapons. "Lower" armor types
for classes are finally rated, but in many cases the Paladin does not get represented since there are only three levels of priority.
You and/or your guild will have to use your best judgement here.
- Clicking here will open a window with a much more
detailed explanation of how items are weighted towards each class.
- Almost certainly if you are raiding there will be no "rolling" on loot, rather you will most likely be
"bidding" on the loot through some kind of DKP system (google is your friend if you don't know what DKP is). Know that there
are a huge variety of DKP systems; some will only allow certain classes to roll, others open rolling to all, others place a
DKP penalty for items which rank lower for that particular class. These lists are for both players and raid leaders to
help determine who drops what, how valued the item is, and how well it benefits the raid group.
- Finally, there is no "correct" answer to a loot methodology and this system is just a guideline to what many
guilds have already done. Guild leaders may use all, some, or none of the ratings here and may adjust these as seen fit. I
would encourage players and raid officers to e-mail me if they feel any of these
ratings are out of line.
